Building a Verified C2PA Credentials Resource

We are proud to announce that the EZDRM Video Signature Service (Dynamic Signer) has been formally verified and recognized with a Level 2 C2PA Conformance certificate by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA). The EZDRM Signature Service is the only Level 2 Conformance generator verification so far achieved for video stream processing. The C2PA Conformance Program was launched earlier this year to give all industry stakeholders confidence that claims about authenticity and provenance are not just ad-hoc, but formally governed. EZDRM commitment to the development and promotion of the C2PA initiative naturally lead to the company applying for, and being granted, a Level 2 conformance certificate for its C2PA offerings. Why should a customer care about what looks like a rather nuanced description of certification-speak? There are at least three reasons:

• Stronger trust and identity assurance: Level 2 conformance requires independently validated signing credentials and tighter key-management controls, providing higher confidence that the generator identity is authentic and not self-asserted. This is in contrast to Level 1 conformance which allows more basic or developer-managed trust models.

• Improved resistance to tampering and misuse: Level 2 conformance mandates additional security controls around private key protection, signing operations, and operational separation, significantly reducing the risk of manifest forgery, key leakage, or unauthorized content signing.
  
  
• Better alignment with commercial and regulatory workflows: Level 2 conformance is designed for production systems and platform integrations (broadcast, OTT, news, and enterprise media), whereas Level 1 conformamance is primarily intended for experimentation, development, and non-critical use cases

The EZDRM Video Signature Service is layered on the base C2PA standards framework to offer scalable, real-time provenance support that is compatible with typical video production workflows and consumer video players. The Level 2 conformant service makes it easy for broadcasters, rights holders, and streaming platforms to distribute media that can be trusted and labelled as such with the Content Credentials pin.

The C2PA Level 2 certification is an assurance of standards conformance and functional verification working in conjunction with any Certificate Authority root of trust on the C2PA Trust List.
