C2PA Video
Signature Service
Efficient C2PA Video Provenance Support
As the assertion of content provenance in streaming workflows becomes increasingly critical, EZDRM is introducing a new service that enables C2PA provenance data to be dynamically applied to VOD and live event video. The EZDRM Video Signature Service extends the base standards framework to offer scalable, real-time provenance support that is compatible with typical video production workflows and consumer video players.
This new service facilitates comprehensive traceability of streaming content by securely managing C2PA content attribution data for large-scale service deployments. It enables simultaneous generation of signed provenance information for the Video manifest and for the EZDRM Provenance Signature Vault.

Enabling the C2PA Ecosystem
Product Features
Cloud Micro-service Resilience
Like other EZDRM micro-service offerings, this service is meticulously designed to seamlessly integrate with existing streaming workflows. for large-scale service deployments. The API-centric micro-service architecture ensures, robust low latency support, and secure metadata storage in a independent, trusted location.
HLS, MPEG-DASH and CMAF Streams
Fully leverages metadata, transport, and streaming standards to enable provenance support for all major delivery formats. As the industry moves toward adoption of CMAF, the approach ensures that provenance data is fully compatible with current and future streaming security implementations.
C2PA signature management for a video stream is more complex and demanding than for a document or an image, and EZDRM has architected its new Video Signature Service in a manner that makes it highly scalable and very low latency. Operating in conjunction with the recently introduced EZDRM Provenance Signature Vault, EZDRM is demonstrating how the value of C2PA can be effectively applied to live event video, offering a range of security benefits to both providers and consumers.
Like other EZDRM microservice offerings, the Video Signature Service is meticulously designed to seamlessly integrate with existing streaming workflows. This service facilitates comprehensive traceability of streaming content by securely managing C2PA content attribution data for large-scale service deployments. Importantly, in a market where, for example, sports-related content is a significant revenue driver for streaming services, EZDRM is offering thought leadership in the application of C2PA to live streaming integrity, and providing a testbed for the approach that C2PA is taking in its standardization efforts.
By leveraging both manifest-based and hosted C2PA metadata, EZDRM enables player devices to initiate media streaming with low startup times, without needing to wait for full provenance verification. The verification of the signature chain and authenticity can occur in parallel to media consumption, enabling seamless user experiences without compromising on trust. This architecture separates content validation logic from playback logic, reducing latency and improving scalability. It also opens the door to real-time integrity monitoring and dynamic trust scoring, making it ideal for both live streaming and on-demand scenarios where playback speed and authenticity are equally critical.
Supporting Technologies
Content Credentials are based on an open technical specification developed and maintained by the C2PA, a cross-industry standards development organization. The capability to recognize and display C2PA data is integrated into many streaming client devices and player technologies:
Platforms
- Edge browser
- Chrome browser
- Apps on iPhone/iPad
- Apps on Android phones/tablets
- Roku, Amazon Fire and many other streaming media players
- Many Smart TVs with commercial players
Formats
