The Security Surprise of 2025

Recently, we were asked, “Given your global exposure to operators and partners in your travels, what is the single most significant topic that you saw emerge in 2025?” That’s not an easy question, but in the context of setting up this recent interview, we started to distill our thoughts along a few different lines.

In a candid interview at Streaming Media 2025, EZDRM COO & Co-Founder Olga Kornienko and Future Frames Producer Doug Daulton discussed the growing importance of security and content provenance in the age of Generative AI and deepfakes. We expand here on the role that C2PA services from security providers like EZDRM can play in protecting content authenticity and content creators’ rights in a changing media landscape, set against the overall landscape of 2025.

Security overall is getting a bigger share of mind in the market. As the world shifts towards online video distribution and consumption, more and more attention is being paid to ensuring large-scale revenue streams can be protected and extended. EZDRM and our partners are moving just as fast with a range of enhanced products, as well as the pre-integration of products into coherent solutions for our more demanding customers at the leading edge of these challenges.

Provenance is emerging as a key concern of rights holders and operators. As a member of the widely supported C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity), EZDRM applauds the momentum that is gathering behind the need for content authors and editors to securely assert their provenance credentials. Our initiatives in actively supporting C2PA expand the range of tools that both apply – and leverage – provenance in streaming video workflows, especially in the context of live event streaming. By extending C2PA’s capabilities, we can unlock new, scalable approaches to video provenance tailored for modern streaming environments.

DRM technology advances have plateaued, demanding a  broader perspective. With this in mind, EZDRM is aligning its future growth with a comprehensive Revenue Security strategy that combines innovative products and proven deployment expertise. We have started rolling out a range of technologies that support our customers' and prospects' businesses in a more sophisticated way. This includes C2PA (as noted above) and also a solution addressing key rotation functionality and targeted audience segmentation enabled by our Precision Envelope technology. 

As 2025 comes to a close, we can see that the landscape is evolving and, with that, presenting new growth opportunities.. We will never lose sight of our core values of future-facing innovation and ease of use, but will expand our application with more broadly based media solution architectures that offer sophisticated ways to secure revenue, rights, and reputation.
